Overview
Come to discover the Southern part of Tuscany, famous for the excellent Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, but also for being close to the Val d’ Orcia, famous for the breathtaking views, where a few notable movies, like The Gladiator, were filmed.
Itinerary
The Tour starts from Siena at 8:30 am. After about 50 minute’s drive from Siena, we’ll reach the first boutique winery where the family or the winemakers will give us a tour of the estate, from the vineyards to the cellars, followed by the tasting of at least 3-4 red wines, sometimes a white and of course Vinsanto dessert wine and the extra virgin olive oil with fresh local bread.
The lunch will be in one of our favorite restaurants, where you can enjoy the delicious food (you will love it!). We work with our favorite restaurants, and they will always be able to please your palate! After lunch, we will visit the second boutique winery, so you will have time to explore Montepulciano before driving back to Siena, this time through the panoramic road.
Tour’s Location
Montepulciano
Montepulciano is a Medieval and Renaissance village with an Etruscan origin, famous because of the wine but also for the charming architecture. The traditional food and little artisan shops still manufacture copper, leather, and ceramic.
The Nobile di Montepulciano wine region is in the Southern part of Tuscany, about a one-hour drive from the city of Siena, in between the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana. It is one of Tuscany’s most ancient wine areas, another expression of the Sangiovese grape.
